Susan Orebaugh Nicholson and husband, Nick, are planning their second visit to Vietnam in October. This time, they will concentrate in the northern part of the country, hiking in the Sapa area, followed by time In Hanoi and nearby parks. Why? It’s our era and a country filled with history, beautiful scenery, lovely people, and great food. Those Vietnamese under 40 know very little about the “American” war.

Patti Jones Schacht is the proud great-grandmother of little Melody Joy, born in February, and daughter of her firstborn grandson, Scott Schulman. A longtime genealogy enthusiast (addict), she published an article in The Northern Neck of Virginia Historical Magazine (December 2015) on her great-great-grandfather, steamship Captain Lindsay M. Jones. Several of her ancestral families go back to the 1630s, many of whom were DAR Patriots. Still enjoying travel, Patti and hubby Richard did a classic train tour of Switzerland last fall. They then went to Luxembourg, where Patti was able to trace several generations of her family, and then rode “le TGV” to Paris, where her French cousins met them. They had fun exploring Paris again (after many years) and the palace at Versailles.

Vicky Taylor Allen is taking a break from being class agent as she is working on selling one condo and moving to another. She continues working at the Convent of the Sacred Heart in Greenwich and loving it!
