Kari Kulow Obrist visited Argentina and finished a successful summit climb of Aconcagua, the highest peak on 6 continents (outside the Himalayas). Not only was she lucky enough to successfully do the climb, she coincidentally ran into Chris Wright ‘96 on her first day on the mountain, and they summited together. Even though the Andes are some of the most immense mountains on earth, it really still is a small world!

Stephanie O’Connor Shockley is the new Priest-in-Charge of the Episcopal Church of the Holy Cross in North Plainfield, NJ. She and her husband Dan Shockley will be relocating from NYC to North Plainfield. They’re looking forward to returning to their home state after almost 12 years in NYC. This is Stephanie’s first full time parish position. Prior to her new position, Stephanie worked as a hospital chaplain and a nonprofit director in NYC.

Leigh Brockman Horowitz and her family moved to St. Louis in June 2016 and continue to love their adopted city. Leigh works as a teacher by day for a local ECC in their one-year old program, and for two non-profit Dance studios (COCA & Dimensions Dance), by night. Leigh’s husband, Jeremy, continues to love the job that brought them up to St. Louis and their son, Oliver, is growing into a very bright and active two. The Horowitz family tends to travel to wherever family is: LA, MN, NC, and CO, but have realized that being smack dab in the middle of the country has some perks! They’ve had a ton of visitors since the move; if you’re in STL and need an air mattress, look them up!

Trent Richardson recently joined in the revelry of Scott Estelle’s annual “Svenska Julfest,” and the memories were bountiful. Trent and Steve Smith commiserate on the state of the Washington Nationals on a daily basis, and believe the World Series for sure in 2018. Trent is a Deputy Associate Director in the U.S. Geological Survey and oversees the Nation’s earthquake, volcano, landslide, and coastal & marine geology interests. In addition, Trent and wife Tamara recently celebrated the 1st birthday of his third child, Nash Steele, on Christmas Eve. The Richardson’s reside in Vienna, Virginia.

Kathleen Gillikin MacCubbin started a new job as Assistant Branch Manager of the Pikesville Library. Stephanie Neatrour Watson welcomed her second son, Robert James Watson, on June 8, 2017, which was a good excuse to miss our 20th reunion.

I made a childhood dream come true and hiked the Great Wall of China (well, a few miles of it!). While in China, my husband and I also saw the Terracotta Warriors in Xi’an, laughed at the cute Pandas in Chengdu, admired the beauty of the Li River in Yangshuo, visited Mickey Mouse at Shanghai Disney, and ate our weight in dumplings and noodles on our adventure.
