UMW Graduates Class of 2012 in 101st Commencement

Five professors were given emeritus status:

Ernest Ackermann – Professor Emeritus of Computer Science

Edward Hegmann – Director Emeritus of Athletics and Professor Emeritus

of Athletics, Health, and Physical Education

David MacEwen – Professor Emeritus of Psychology

Stephen Watkins – Professor Emeritus of English

Marsha Zaidman – Associate Professor Emerita of Computer Science

President Richard V. Hurley presides over commencement in full regalia, including the Presidential Collar, a gold chain that features symbols of Mary Washington, and Hurley’s Washington Medallion.
