In August 2018, Justin Anderson was hired at Mary Washington as the Head Men’s & Women’s Swim Coach and Lecturer.

Laura Pilati and Rob Richards welcomed daughter Annaliese Marin on November 5, 2018.

Mary Bennett married Jonathan Evens on October 27, 2018 in Roanoke, Virginia.

Congratulations to alumna Christine G. Adams! Her essay “Terms of Venery” is the winner of the 2018 Prairie Schooner Creative Nonfiction Contest. She will receive a prize of $500 and publication in the Spring 2019 issue.

Lindsey Rivers (Jiao) ‘12 married Matt Rivers ‘11 in August. They now reside in Staunton, VA.

Matthew DeMarr ’10 and Christine Boyer DeMarr ’12 welcomed their third child, a daughter on June 11, 2018 named Georgianna Kathleen-Jeanne DeMarr.

Kelly O’Grady ‘12, Masters of Education ‘13, has been teaching for 6 years in Loudoun County, Virginia. She is the English department chair at Seneca Ridge Middle School.

On July 26, 2018, Kyle F. Allwine ’12, MBA ’15 and Libby Allwine, MBA ’15 welcomed their first son, Kyle F. Allwine, II.

Chris O’Kelly ‘12 is the current president of Art First Gallery which is a professional art gallery located in Downtown Fredericksburg.

Jackie Veccia ’13 and Josh Craig ’13 married on June 2017 at the Old Silk Mill in Fredericksburg, VA. Michele McNeill ’12 was among the bridesmaids. Jackie works at Northrop Grumman as an Engineer and is pursuing her Master degree in Public Health. Josh is a sales rep for Herc equipment rentals. They now reside in Florida near Cocoa Beach.

Molly Baldovin, Class of UMW ‘14 with a B.S. Business Administration, graduated with her Master of Arts in Arts Management from George Mason University in May 2018 and moved to New York City shortly afterwards with her boyfriend, who she met while at GMU. They are both following their dreams of working in the arts in NYC.

Maggie Lovitt, Class of 2015, Would like to announce that she has joined SAG-AFTRA.

Holly Aleksonis will be moving to Atlanta, GA this Fall with her boyfriend, Patrick, and their two dogs to begin a PhD Program in Clinical Neuropsychology at Georgia State University after conducting Pediatric Neuropsychology Research at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, OH. Since graduation, she has been lucky enough to visit fellow alumna, Kathryn Erwin ’16, in the Kansas City Metro Area where she lives and works developing utility-scale wind farms throughout the Mid-West.

Helen Bower  married Jacob Ferguson on October 13th, 2018 in Fincastle, VA. Jacob did not attend Mary Washington but he certainly spent most weekends on campus!
