Ryan Wellner was named defensive coordinator at Notre Dame. A 2000 graduate of Mary Washington College, Wellner began his collegiate career as an assistant at the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy (2004) after getting started at his alma mater of Chaminade High School (2003).

In July, William Travis Seale of King George, Virginia, was selected to be the head of the AEGIS Based C2 Integration Branch (V22). Travis has worked more than 10 years in AEGIS and Aegis BMD programs, leading multidisciplinary, technically diverse teams of scientists, engineers, developers, and technicians. He studied math and is Level 3 Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) certified in systems engineering.

Dr. Lauren Fisher, a licensed clinical psychologist, proudly opened Del Ray Psych & Wellness, an integrated wellness center in the Del Ray neighborhood of Alexandria, VA. She was also named to the Alexandria’s Chamber of Commerce’s 40 under 40 program, which honors various industry leaders who positively impact their community.
Carolina Jarvis Gee and husband Alex welcomed a son, Callum Aidan Gee, to their family on June 29th. Though exhausted and in unfamiliar territory, Mummy and Daddy are completely and utterly in love.
Allyson Bristor Brekke was promoted to Director of Community and Economic Development for the City of Port Angeles, WA in September 2018. She also graduated from the Northwest Women’s Leadership Academy, sponsored by the Washington City/County Management Association, in June 2019. She and her husband Christopher Brekke (UND ‘04) happily welcomed their second child, a daughter named Thea Jeanelle, in March 2019. Son Vincent Arthur is excited to be a big brother.
Madelyn Marino and I met in Raleigh and traveled to Asheville, NC for a long weekend in August. We enjoyed drinking cider, taking a glass blowing class, and sampling as much delicious food as possible.
Jessica Moore was selected to participate in the 91st Joint Civilian Orientation Conference (JCOC 91) hosted by the Secretary of Defense in June. The JCOC program is the oldest and most prestigious public outreach and full immersion program in the Department of Defense. As a JCOC participant, Jessica spent several days at the Pentagon and military installations, engaging with senior military officials and U.S. Service members. She gained a better understanding of the roles and mission of the U.S. Armed Forces; their skills, capabilities and equipment employed in defense of our nation. The JCOC program directly links to the Department’s Know Your Military (#KYM) initiative, which is designed to help close the growing civilian-military divide by educating the American public about their military.
Kim Winslow and Chris Winslow celebrated their 15th anniversary with a trip to Wrightsville Beach with daughter Kate and son Joseph. Kim is a Senior Manager of audit at KPMG. Chris practices law and serves on the Chesterfield County Board of Supervisors.
Stephanie Lee (Scheibe) Barb was promoted to the position of Chief of the Integrated Delivery Division within the Office of the Chief Information Officer, IT Service Operations Department. In her new role, Stephanie is responsible for the delivery of new IT products and services to meet the mission needs of the Library of Congress. Additionally, Stephanie was awarded the Volunteer of Excellence Award in recognition of her efforts with the Girl Scouts of the Virginia Skyline Council.

Carol S. Ward is currently the Director of One River School of Art in Larchmont, NY. The school focuses on teaching from living contemporary artists and showcases emerging artists in its gallery space. She was recently recognized as one of The Business Council of Westchester’s “Forty Under 40 Rising Stars in Business” for her role at the school and its gallery.

After many years working as a Residential Appraiser, Jocelyn (McNeill) Campbell has changed her focus. She is now a Commercial Appraiser for Fairfax County. She is currently working towards achieving her Certified General Appraiser license

Nina Parrish and Jay Parrish live in Fredericksburg with their two daughters who are 4 and 9. Jay is an Associate Broker and Digital Platform Manager for Coldwell Banker Elite. Nina runs Parrish Learning Zone, a tutoring business that Jay and Nina started in 2010.

Robin Epperson-McCarthy, owner/Winemaker of Saltbird Cellars in Mattituck, NY has been awarded a 2019 Legacy Award from Les Dames d’Escoffier International, Supported by The Julia Child Foundation for Gastronomy and the Culinary Arts. Les Dames d’Escoffier International (LDEI) is a worldwide philanthropic organization of professional women leaders in the fields of food, fine beverage and hospitality. The invitation-only membership, composed of 2,400 women in 42 chapters across the US, Canada, France, the United Kingdom and Mexico, is highly diversified and reflects the multifaceted fields of contemporary gastronomy and hospitality.

Lynn Nashorn lives in College Park, Maryland and works as a textual processing archivist at the National Archives. In late March of this year, her boyfriend, David Tablada and Lynn welcomed a daughter, Autumn Eloise Tablada. She joins her two cat sisters, Celeste and The Great Catsby.
Claire Burke married Antoine Douadi in September of 2018 in Brooklyn New York and plans to enjoy a second celebration in her husband’s native France this summer. Claire is a Project Manager at Acme Ticketing, a small tech start-up that specializes in museum ticketing. She is also pursuing a degree in interior design at the New York School of Interior Design in Manhattan and hopes to switch careers in the near future. Claire and her husband Antoine reside in Brooklyn, New York with their furry son, Barney.
Carolyn Huckabay welcomed her second daughter, Bernadette, in May. She runs the communications department for the national healthy food access nonprofit The Food Trust in Philadelphia.
Elizabeth Griffiths got married on October 27, 2018 to Dave O’Donnell in Bedford Springs, PA;Jana Guja (Lipski) and Erica Rozek were in attendance.
Sameer Vaswani was selected to participate in a Commercial Development Program in Princeton, NJ for a six month rotation.

Andrew Blate, CPA ’04 is running his renovation and remodeling company Beautiful Home Services, LLC in the DC metro area and recently moved with his wife Jessie Thomas-Blate to Alexandria, VA. In April, Andrew, along with Melinda May 91′, Linda Blakemore 84′, and Dan Clendenin hosted and sponsored the 3rd annual Beautiful Home Service Case Competition with the College Business where at total of $8,000 was given to the three best teams from the COB.

Ally Lee Marzan, husband Rob Marzan and big brother Hunter, 2, welcomed Brantlee Robert Marzan on September 20, 2018. Ally also appeared as a guest on the “Strahan and Sara” show in July 2019 taking on one of her favorite people, Lance Bass, in a game of trivia about Lance Bass. Spoiler alert- she crushed it and will forever be known as Lance Bass’s biggest fan!

Alexa Stanco Clark (’06) and Sean Clark welcomed their first child, Lucas Declan Clark on May 17, 2019. Everyone is setting in as a family of three at their home in Arlington, VA.

Nancy (Raia) Buechler and her husband John welcomed a baby boy, John Alexander “Jax”, on May 6, 2019. Big sister Ruby Rose (2 years old) is having a blast in her new role and the whole family is excited to be moving into a new home on Long Island, NY summer 2019.

Lauren Bayer (’06), her husband Steven Grillo (’07), and their dog Murray (who did not graduate) welcomed their daughter Filomena Giuseppa into their family on May 14, 2019. The family lives in New Jersey where Lauren is a state criminal defense attorney and Steven is first vice president for the Staten Island Economic Development Corporation.

Dave Dalton married Katherine, nee Moran, July 2015. Along with their daughter, Isidora, born April 2017 and son, Timothy, born September 2018 they reside in Bowling Green, VA. Dave is employed by the Virginia State Corporation Commission in Richmond, VA.

Catie (’08) and Brian (’09) Bales welcomed a baby boy in July.

Elizabeth Jennings married Michael Haden in Charlottesville, Virginia in April. Megan (Taaffe) Edahl ’07, Jamie (Rounsaville) Joy, Jacqui Newman and Kristin (Pytko) Graham were bridesmaids. Elizabeth and Michael are moving to Dallas this fall.

Rebecca (Gall) Fenwick has joined Ethos Preservation in Savannah, GA as Principal.

Tristan Connor is getting married to his love, Becky Haenni. UMW alumni will be in attendance including: Johannah O’Keefe (‘09), Caitlin Minney (‘09), Gill Economou (‘09) Laura Mandeville (‘09), Sunny Yoon (‘10), Emilie Begin(‘10), and John Schell (‘10), Sammy Luffy(‘11) and Melody Ain (‘11)
